Numberz is a invoice and expense management web application for small businesses. A web app that manages day to day transaction in sync with your bank.
When the product was at a nascent stage, GDD was approached by the Numberz team to create a holistic fintech product which enables small and medium businesses to manage their cash flow. The focus was to design and solve challenges of creating and managing invoices, do intelligent bank reconciliations and quick and easy expense management functionality.
Optimizing work flows of the existing product. This would involve understanding all functions and test out solutions with users.
A strong visual language would help keep visual consistency amongst all the elements.
Ease of switching from one function to the other should be very intutive.
Initially we conducted workshops with product managers and continuously got inspired from our own business setup to understand the problem. We also interacted with many business owners and startup teams to understand the need and validated all insights with product managers.
We solved some of the key problems within the product by applying the insights that we gathered. Three main challenges were identified. They were onboarding new users, creating UI framework to make the user understand the product semantic and define the most adaptive interactions for the key features like invoice creation, quick expense recording and reconciling bank transactions.
Paper sketches were generated and basic concepts were validated along with product management. The wireframes for each feature was made and iterated multiple times before finalizing the UI framework. Based on the UI framework, detailed visual design was done with set of icons, color palette and multiple design patterns to make the product scalable.
